Happy Closing to Spongebob and Carousel on Broadway!

Today on September 16th, 2018, two incredible musicals are closing on Broadway: Spongebob and Carousel.

Spongebob is closing at the Palace Theatre after opening on December 4th, 2017. The musical had it’s out-of-town tryout in 2016 in Chicago before arriving in New York. Spongebob received 12 Tony nominations and won Best Scenic Design of a Musical. I got the chance to see the show back in December and was amazed by the dynamic set and incredible cast. The energy in the Palace Theatre was joyful and contagious. Happy closing to the the entire cast and creative team of the wonderful Spongebob Squarepants The Musical.

Carousel is closing at the Imperial Theatre after opening on April 12th, 2018. The musical had previews at the Imperial in February before their official opening. The stunning revival production received 10 Tony Nominations and won two. One being Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical, which went to Lindsay Mendez, and the other being Best Choreography, for the show’s choreographer, Justin Peck. I never got the chance to see this show but have heard that it was visually stunning and the performances were incredible. Happy closing to the entire cast and creative team of the stunning revival of Carousel.

Sending love and light,
